Sharing with community

Publish reusable writing and coding prompts to the PromptDC public library so other people can discover, copy, and adapt them. Prompts in the community library can be used everywhere PromptDC runs — in the flagship Desktop app on macOS and Windows across every desktop app, browser, IDE, and terminal CLI (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Grok, Agy), in the Chrome extension, and in IDE extensions.

Before you publish

Review the full item as public content before you publish. Remove secrets, customer data, private URLs, internal identifiers, and project details that other people should not see.

  • Name the result in the title and explain the intended use in the description.
  • Add the closest category and any model context that changes how the item works.
  • Include the context, constraints, and expected output that make the instruction reusable across apps and terminal CLIs.
  • Test the item with representative input, then check the output before publishing.

What you can share

Community items can capture a reusable instruction, a broader working role, or supporting material. Choose the item type that matches what another person will reuse.

Prompts

Instructions for writing, planning, analysis, coding, reviews, and terminal CLIs across any application.

System prompts

Reusable behavior, role, tone, and output rules for AI desktop tools, web chats, and workflows.

Markdown files

Specs, checklists, reference notes, or project rules that provide reusable context.

Templates

Starting points that other users can copy and adapt to their own audience, process, or stack.

How sharing works

Create the item in your Library, complete its metadata, and set its type to public to make it visible in the community.

    Create the item

    Create a prompt, system prompt, or Markdown file in your personal Library.

  2. 02

    Choose the surface

    Create items from your PromptDC Desktop account Library page, the Chrome extension creation flow, or the PromptDC Library tab in an IDE extension.

    Remove private context

    Delete secrets, internal links, private project names, customer data, and identifying examples.

  4. 04

    Add metadata

    Write a specific title and description, then choose the item type and closest category (writing profiles, Code profile, or custom tasks).

  5. 05

    Set the item to public

    Set the item type to public. Items with another type remain in your personal Library.

  6. 06

    Publish and reuse everywhere

    Save the item to the community library. Community prompts are instantly available to reuse across macOS and Windows in any app, browser, IDE, or terminal CLI.

Publishing quality checklist

Clear title

Name the result another user should expect, not just the tool or model.

Complete instructions

Include needed context, firm constraints, and the expected output format.

No private data

Remove tokens, private URLs, customer data, internal identifiers, and sensitive examples.

Reusable wording

Replace project-specific shorthand with instructions another person can understand.

Accurate metadata

Choose the item type and category that match the content so community filters remain useful.

Public type

Set type to public when you are ready to share. Otherwise, the item stays in your personal Library.
