The Chrome Extension
PromptDC is an AI prompt & writing assistant that lives in a small floating toolbar. It appears in any text box on the web the moment you focus a text box, input, or editable field. It includes tuned per-site defaults, and a right-click menu and keyboard shortcut enhance selected text anywhere. Your text is rewritten in place with no copy-pasting into a separate app.
What the rewrite does depends on the active mode: Writing mode fixes grammar, writes emails, and sharpens posts; Coding mode turns vague developer prompts into implementation-ready specs.

Install once, then enhance anywhere you type.
01. Install from the Chrome Web Store
Add PromptDC and pin it. Sign in to unlock enhancement (editing settings and enhancing requires a Pro, Enterprise, or Lifetime plan).
02. Focus a text box
On any site — Gmail, ChatGPT, LinkedIn, Lovable, and beyond — click into a text field and the floating toolbar appears above or below it. A right-click menu and keyboard shortcut work too.
03. Click Enhance
The Enhance button shows the active mode (e.g. Grammar, Email, Code). Click it to rewrite the field's text in place. Results are cached per input so you don't re-spend credits.
04. Switch modes when needed
Use the caret next to Enhance to open the switcher — search built-in modes, pick one of your profiles, or create a new profile.
05. Set it and forget it
Assign a profile to a site with a per-website rule, so the right mode activates automatically every time you return.

Rewrites your text with the active mode. The caret opens the mode switcher with all built-in modes and your profiles.
Community library
Browse community-shared and personal prompts. Also opens by typing // in a text field — insert and reuse prompts instantly.
Settings
Opens the side panel where you manage modes, profiles, per-website rules, language, theme, and coding settings.
Disable
Turns PromptDC off for the current website and remembers that choice until you re-enable it.

Manage your profiles — search, create, edit, reset built-ins, and delete. Set per-website rules so a profile auto-activates on a site. Everything auto-saves and syncs to your PromptDC account.

Settings for Coding mode: Enhancement Mode (Simple / Structured), output Format (Regular / JSON / XML / YAML), an optional system-prompt override, and Always Include rules. Language and Theme apply across both tabs.

What does the PromptDC Chrome extension do?

Which websites does it work on?
The toolbar appears in any text box on any website when you focus an editable field. A right-click menu and keyboard shortcut also let you enhance selected text anywhere. PromptDC ships tuned defaults for popular sites including ChatGPT, Claude, Gmail, LinkedIn, X, Google Docs, Reddit, Lovable, Bolt.new, Replit, Cursor, and v0.
How does it know whether to write or code?
Recognized coding sites default to Coding mode until you add custom profiles or per-website rules. Once you customize your setup, PromptDC follows those choices. Other sites use your per-website rule, last-used profile, or the Grammar default. You can change the active profile from the switcher caret on the toolbar.
Do I need an API key?
Pro and Enterprise do not require an API key. Lifetime requires your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or Grok API key from /account/subscription. You choose the provider and model. Keys are stored in your browser's local storage, pushed locally to the Chrome extension, and do not sync across devices. They transit PromptDC's backend only to run each request and are never stored there.
